Girl Gamer Pays a Visit to PDP Controllers

While at E3, I swung by the PDP Controllers room to check out what they have in store. If you’re not familiar with Performance Designed Products, they’re the company who brought us the Afterglow controllers as well as Nerf Armor.

I was given the tour around the place, and had a look at their current and upcoming products. A few things that caught my eye were definitely the limited edition Tron controllers, as well as the Disney iPhone cases. PDP sure knows how to handle gaming in style.

Although everything looked sweet on the outside, I wasn’t sold on the hardware.

Let me start off by saying that PDP has an amazing concept that I think with a little more TLC could go a long way. After I started working at GameStop, I had heard about the Afterglow products being defective frequently and when I brought this up to a representative, I felt like my question was dodged completely. Despite the lack of attention to my question, I went ahead and tried out their new Wii headset and I wasn’t impressed. The sound quality, material and design felt lacking and unfinished.

I can’t speak for the rest of the controllers but from what I did see, I was left unsatisfied. As far as the designs of their products go, I loved them! You can tell they have a passion for the artistic side of gaming.

In the future, I’d love to see some more testing and tweaking done to their products. I’m always up for giving them a second chance.

There’s always next year!

Thank you for dropping by our meeting room during E3. As for the defective question, we have not heard many claims defective hardware, generally it's from people who bought the controller for the PC and didn't download the required hardware. I'm sorry if you felt we dodge the question didn't mean to come off that way. Overall I am glad you enjoyed the design of the new products.
