Look familiar? You may have seen this image before while casually browsing the web. This is just one of the several inappropriate ads for the online game Evony.
The ads consist of half dressed women seductively posing with the words, “Come Play, My Lord” near by. From the looks of it, you’d think the game is some sort of sexual fantasy simulation, but in reality it’s a real time strategy game.
After the company received feedback on their advertising ways, they quoted, “The scale of Evony’s advertising operation also means that occasionally – despite the fact that websites typically specify the type of ad content appropriate for their audience – these ads have run on sites they were not intended for. It also means that occasionally the content of some ads have not met our standards. We work rapidly and diligently to respond to any problem[s].”
Since the issues has become so massive, they ended up creating an email, reportads@evony.com, just to handle heavy load of complaints.
“Moving forward – based on community feedback as well as an in-depth look at advertising effectiveness – we are employing an ad campaign that focuses on the gameplay and features of Evony: Age II,” the continue to explain.
“While we cannot say with certainty that we will no longer feature less family friendly ads aimed at the appropriate audience, we will work hard to ensure the content is presented in a positive manner that is distinctly tied to the features and experience of the game we’re advertising.”
I’m not buying it, but I guess we’ll have to see. Here’s a look at some of their other “family friendly” ads.

HA! My friend (who actually plays this game) and I, just had a conversation about this yesterday. I was shocked to find out he plays this game (thinking it was a sex simulation type of game) but, I was more shocked to find out its just a strat game. Silly ads.
"These ads use to make me laugh a lot. I mean just look at the first picture. I mean that doesn't look sexy that looks like I just farted. Which we all know doesn't smell to nice m'lord. lol"
Haha so true, they look mentally delayed (slow). Since when is a partially open to gaping mouth (like Megan Fox) attractive? Looks more like Terri Shaivo (poor woman :()
I started playing that game before I ever saw the ads... I saw some of the ads on facebook and didn't understand what was going on... They have nothing to do with the game AT ALL.
These ads are so silly...they have NOTHING to do with the game...even though the game is kindaaa lamee...there's no naked chicks AND girls play it too!
They make me laugh.

1 year, 8 months agoI actually saw one with a girl all tied up, bondage style. Yeah, cuz that has ANYTHING to do with strategy games. I'm sure guys are thinking, "man that girl's "assets" sure make me want to go build a village! Heck yes!
