Whether a zombie apocalypse really occurs or not it’s always best to be prepared, right? With an abundance of titles like Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead infecting your brain (and wallet), it seems avoiding this pandemic is inevitable.
Lucky for YOU, I’m a master of zombie survival and I’m here to save you.
1. Enforce the Buddy System.
It can be a dangerous world traveling alone so make sure to tag along with someone (after you’ve confirmed they aren’t infected of course). Traveling with a partner not only increases your chance of survival, but it might just save your life in a sticky situation.
2. Run and Shoot.
When you have zombies on your ass you don’t have time to take a coffee break. Always remember to keep moving until it’s necessary to rest. Also, when sleeping, or trying to anyways, switch off “look out” position with your partner since not all people can sleep with one eye open.
3. Scavenge.
In a vacant world supplies won’t fall into your lap. Make sure to search around for anything you can use or get creative and make traps, molotovs, and if you know how to, explosives. Stores, houses and supply shops make for great restocking areas so take advantage of them when they cross your path.
4. Be Prepared.
With ammunition that is. You can never have too much when it comes to taking down zombies. They’re unpredictable, and you’ll never know how many you might face in a day. 10? 100? Maybe even a 1,000? Load your shotguns, as well as your pockets.
5. Get out of there!
As much as I’m sure you love living in a zombie infested world you’ll have to find an escape route sometime or another. Try to find signs of life, listen to the radio for news, and city hop looking for an uninfected town. If you find some, try stowing away your flares in case you see a helicopter. Those flares will certainly get you noticed, but be cautious because they may attract a horde as well.
Now you’re all set! You should be able to handle those bloody zombies with ease. We may have a while before any “infection” starts spreading on earth, but the advice works just as well in any video game too. So go have fun, kick some zombie ass, and remember kids – practice makes perfect!
