Sonic The Hedgehog: The Rollercoaster!

Today, SEGA Europe Ltd announce their exclusive three year partnership with Alton Towers Resort. The deal not only gives SEGA exclusive rights but is also the first time a videogame character has been given their own “Ride and Stay” experience while at the popular U.K. resort.

The sponsorship will encompass the launch of a Sonic The Hedgehog branded rollercoaster and Sonic The Hedgehog themed room at the Alton Towers Hotel. The Sonic room allows guests to live, sleep and even play the latest games from the Sonic franchise in a room dedicated to the Sonic universe. The rollercoaster (Sonic Spinball) and the Sonic hotel room will open to the public this February 13th. (WOO HOO!)

Starting with SEGA Mega Drive back in 1991, Sonic The Hedgehog is one of the most popular franchises in the world, with yet another game, Sonic and SEGA All-stars Racing, launching Feb 26th 2010.
