Blizzard is arguably one of the best gaming companies at getting us to keep our subscriptions active by releasing new content frequently; this vicious cycle keeps us hooked and yet, still begging for more. The way the “MMO” genre works, in most cases, is that we all pay a certain fee a month AND we all get a bunch of “free” content. Sounds good, right?

The next big update for World of Warcraft is titled “Call of the Crusade.” Gamers should already know that when Blizzard labels their patches, we should all be eagerly expecting a huge update of new and improved content! WoW is getting new dungeons of the 5/10/25-man/woman flavor which have been labeled as some of the hardest content to date. This, for you hardcore raiders out there, is the new tier of raiding after Ulduar and the bosses will drop Tier 9 gear. The name of these new dungeons is referred to as the “Crusaders’ Coliseum.”
Due to hardcore guilds downing every raid boss within a day or two, Blizzard has decided to unlock one, new boss each week. Meaning the first week the Crusaders’ Coliseum is open, gamers will only be able to tackle the first boss; the very next week, a new boss encounter will open and will go on that way until all are available. Sounds like an effective way to keep us from pwning too hard, too fast!
Also new to the game is the “Crusaders’ Tribute” mechanic. This mechanic tracks how many times your guild attempts a boss encounter, and the fewer times it takes you to down him the greater the loot will be for the final boss. The title of this hunt for better loot is called a “Tribute Run.”
Lastly, this isn’t the only update coming with patch 3.2. Subscribers to the game are also getting a new PvP battleground, mounts available starting at level 20, changes to the Argent Tournament, and new Druid skins for Night Elves and Taurens. The full breakdown of the “Call of the Crusade” patch can be found on Blizzard’s website.
...and to all you fellow non-druids, it kind of sucks that you’ll be behind on the latest fashion, doesn’t it?
