For years now we’ve had to leave Steam behind any time we wanted to venture out of our rooms, but now you can take Steam with you just about anywhere. Today, Valve officially announced that the Big Picture beta is available for gamers to try. This beta will allow users to take all their games, friends, and favorites right to their TV screen.

“Sega’s roots are in living-room gaming.” said John Clark, VP of Digital Distribution at Sega. “For the first time since the advent of PC games decades ago, gamers are finally going to have access to the kind of entertainment experience we’ve always wished they could have with our PC titles – one that’s incredibly social, comfortable, and accessible. We’re excited about the opportunity, and Big Picture has inspired us to bring even more of our titles to Steam in the future.”

See, even Sega is excited about it!

Steam Big Picture was created to support controllers as well as keyboard and mice, so don’t worry about having to give that up! With a simple HDMI cord you can connect your PC or MAC to the TV and enjoy Steam 24/7.
