Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

By GG-Myluvalways 10 months ago • 4 Comments

When I was a teen, I spent my very first paycheck purchasing a Playstation console and a copy of Final Fantasy 7. At that moment I knew I was hooked for life. Since then I have had the opportunity to play most of the Final Fantasy releases, except for the MMO style titles (FFXI and FFXIV). However, now I wonder what the Final Fantasy world would be like as a player, commanding a single toon whilst exploring new lands and meeting new foes…

Hearing that Square Enix recently announced a complete revamp and relaunch of their second Final Fantasy MMO, titled Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (aka version 2.0) is exciting news. Complete with Chocobos, Moogles and the ability to play with friends worldwide, this game has true potential for greatness.

Players in this MMO can choose to be one of 5 races: the small childlike Lalafell, The tall, sleek and long-living Elezen, the muscular Roegadyn, the diverse Hyur, or the solitary, feline-like Miqo’te.

Awesome Miqo’te race concept art!

After choosing a race, the player then chooses a clan within that race to join as well as class, guardian and birth date. From the looks of the character creation screenshot, the features are fairly customizable; allowing for unique looks and oodles of personalization options.

A look into character creation.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be available for PS3 and PC later this fall…

But until then, you can learn more about the lore, characters, threats and more from Final Fantasy XIV:A Realm Reborn by hitting the official website and giving them a “like” on their official Facebook page.

Waiting sucks, but this’ll be worth it (I hope)!

Woah this looks amazing I love Final fantasy always have, but I was disappointed with there last mmo. I just hope they can redeem themselves with this one. From the looking of the character creation screen it seem to be looking good art wise but too early to tell I guess :)

I really hope SquareEnix has fixed this game. It really has picked up a lot from launch but I'm still unsure whether it's worth paying for.

I was there for the beta and the nitial launch opf the game. I played for a few months and fought through the nightmare that it was but ultimately gave up. Still, I've heard from a few folk that after a LOT of their efforts, Square has managed to fix and change enough of the game that it's much much better. I haven't re-signed up to test this theory, as I am generally staying away from MMO's for now. But it should be worth a look, as if these changes don't bring in the crowds it'll likely see the death of the game.

Sweet! The character creation screen reminds me a bit to the very first Guild Wars game, I'm expecting great things from this game. Please don't suck like the last one... at least the graphics will deliver some eye candy.
