When I first picked it up, having not played the first, I had no idea what was going on. With some practice and research however (Day 9 ftw), I found myself basically speaking an entirely different language simply discussing this game with friends. That being said, the community of this game is what astonishes me the most. There is a range from casual players to passionate, dedicated players, and it shows in the game. The best advice I can give you is not to get discouraged, watch your replays and keep practicing. Oh, and know your hotkeys! :)
