You will be given a choice to spare or kill Ann. Whichever one you choose, along with whether your choices thus far have been positive/negative, will decide which ending you get. On the North side of town, near the bank, there is a 2nd floor apartment with its lights on. Run over to the back of the Gallery and pick up a poker near the radio. Run back and use the poker to lower the fire escape ladder. The window's not open, but if you walk up to it and hit your action button, you'll go inside. Here you'll find yourself back in Henry Townsend's room! You can't open any doors, but you'll find a pistol and first aid kit. Once you escape from Devil's Pit, you'll find yourself in Silent Hill. Rolling around the streets are patrol cars - but they're not normal! It will be to your advantage to disable these first thing to avoid unnecessary fights. Step #1 - Listen for the patrol car, then run out into the street so it sees you. (Be careful not to get run over!) You'll then have to fight about 3 enemies at once, so arm yourself accordingly. Step #2 - Go into the police station and cross the plank to the other side. There you'll find a dispatch station. Type in the following call signs to recall the cars: D375/ C466/ B557/ A648/ These codes are the same, no matter which difficulty you're playing. Once you do this, you'll get an achievement and you won't have to deal with the patrol cars anymore. If you enter the police station before a patrol car sees you, you won't be able to type in the call signs. Throughout the town, you'll find large, green lockers but no where to find the codes. These codes were given if you pre-ordered the game, but are not unique, so here they are! NOTE: Only ONE will work and effect all safes in the town, so choose wisely! During the 'Truth and Reconciliation' mission in which you rescue Captain Keyes, you'll find it increasingly difficult to keep the man alive, since he loves to stand in the way. Here's a trick I employ on Legendary - go slow and watch your radar. If you go slow, Keyes and the other marines won't run in front of you (usually). Once you spot where the enemies are, BACK TRACK around a corner and use the sniper rifle to take out any Elites (or Grunts if you have the Grunt Funeral Skull on; it will take out the Elite for you in that case). It may take a few tries, but memorize where the enemies will be and then keep back tracking to keep Keyes around as many corners as possible. Read More

In the chapter where you must find Capt. Keyes in the swamp, there is a secret area you can access right from the beginning. When Foe Hammer says “The Last transmission from the captain's drop ship was from this area. That was over twelve hours ago.” immediately start pressing your grenade throw button. Whatever you do, DON'T MOVE! After a few seconds, the drop ship will take back off, and you'll still be in it. It flies for about 20 seconds then crashes. Press X to exit the drop ship. Now walk directly away from the ship until you reach a clearing. Head towards the center and out of the fog you'll see a lone marine standing there!
