Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. You are the very first Big Daddy as you travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and your own survival.
Multiplayer in BioShock 2 provides a rich prequel experience that expands the award winning BioShock gameplay. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject in the underwater city that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the game’s toolset to survive as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.

Bioshock 2 lacks as many “creepy” moments as Bioshock 2. I’ll be honest, I had to turn my screen off a few times in the first one. This time around, I walked through it with ease. Aside from the fact that mouse sensitivity didn’t go down low enough for my taste, the visuals look the same, and the Big Daddies are five times harder to kill, I’d say Bioshock 2 is a great game. The overall gameplay feels slightly repetitive, but everything else kept me wanting more.
If you didn’t get enough from the first Bioshock, then buckle up because Bioshock 2 is gonna take you on a ride. Right from the get-go, the game gives you a taste of cinematic footage as well as combat. Unlike some games, these clips are quick, to the point, and important to the storyline. When it comes to the user interface, many things look similar to its prequel including the menu screen, physics, controls, and most of the visuals.
Remember that ride I was talking about? It’s a ride down memory lane! (Visually speaking, that is.) The environment, although “new,” feels the same as the first game. This time around, you’re no hopeless human – you get to step right into the shoes of Mr. Big Daddy, himself.
