What can I say? This is by far one of my favourite FPS games in my PS3 collection and shouldn’t be compared to games like COD 4 because they are different in the sense of game modes etc. The graphics are great and the gameplay is great! The storyline is fun, the missions are long and it’s challenging looking for those gold bars that the mercenaries leave behind at their bases. Through-out the game you are faced with heavy artillery, tanks shooting at you, soldiers trying to take you down and all that. This game play can get a tiny bit repetitive if you play it for too long, but it offers different missions where you’ll have to drive tanks and fly helicopters to take down targets so it balances out. However, 3 other CPU ally soldiers stick with you ‘like a team’ but never prove useful, so your faced with dealing with all of the situations ahead of you like taking down a tank and on the side some enemy soldiers. Multiplayer on this game is the real highlight which makes this game worth it. Players start off at rank 1 having to earn points by killing opposing players on the other team, blowing up tanks, destroying objectives, capturing flags and more. These points are usually +10 for a kill, +30 for objective and any bonuses can be from 3-6 points (3 being an assist, 5 a headshot and 6 squad assist) These points all go towards your next rank, the last rank being 25 where you need around 35000 points – the point system makes the game very rewarding and worth it. These points give you unlocks to new weapons and other things like C4, laser designators and more. The game modes are simple but fun, Gold Rush is where you have to destroy or defend the Gold Crates for mission completion or failure. Conquest is when the teams fight for the flags on a map. All of the maps circulate after one another, so once you’re in a game you’ll be in it until you leave or get kicked out. These maps host a number of tanks, helicopters, boats, small transport and artillery guns. There are 4 kits to choose from: Snipers can climb to the top of hills and take down their targets, Support can heal and repair vehicles, Assault is a nice all rounder class, Demolition can take down tanks with mines and RPG and finally the Specialist for cqc, fast rate of fire weapons a long with the handy C4 for tanks. There are always players online, and rarely any lag.
