Sam Fisher is on his way to a town near me!
Ubisoft Entertainment’s largest development site, located in Montreal, has recently announced that their new Toronto team will be responsible for the next Splinter Cell title to follow the recent release of SC: Conviction (now available on your 360 and PC).
Ubisoft Montreal Studios
Ubisoft, in conjunction with substantial provincial financial support, opened the Toronto studio late last year creating approximately 40 local jobs this year with a projection of 750 more over the next decade. While Ubisoft has plans to grow in Toronto, General Manager Jade Raymond explained in a recent interview with Gamasutra that their main focus in hiring will be “making sure we choose the right people… the difference between the successful studios and not are those that hire when there is a good person available, not just to fill specific roles.”
So with the follow up to Splinter Cell convictions on the table for Ubisoft Toronto, it’s no surprise that the team will be focused solely on this forthcoming title.
Splinter Cell: Conviction is the fifth title in the franchise and was released for 360 and PC in April with mixed reviews. Introducing new game play elements and atmospheric environments, it will be interesting to discover what the Toronto Studio conjures up for fans of the Tom Clancy story to follow the anticipated Conviction.
Coming soon...
