Last night (April 8, 2010), press from the Video Games industry gathered at Konami’s annual Gamers Night; wherein they reveal new line-ups, offer hands-on gameplay, etc.
The most talked about reveal however, was a short teaser trailer at the very end…
That’s right, folks – A new Silent Hill!!
All other details remain as mysterious as the games, themselves. Will it be another re-imagining like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories? A sequel? A brand new addition?
Akira Yamaoka, the series’ sound producer and composer is now working on a survival horror game with Grasshopper for EA, so the fans are wondering if he will be involved. (Said game is being produced by Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami – but he is also credited on the packaging as having created Silent Hill…)

Probably not, I'm afraid. Although they still have a few scattered members of the original team (Masahiro Ito, for example, designing monsters) all games since Silent Hill: Origins have been outsourced to other developers. :-( Double Helix did a fantastic job with Homecoming, though - I hope they get it.
So exciting!! I wonder is it'll be developed by Team Silent?
