Finally! After Bioshock had left us all craving for more 2K Games decided to put a bang into the sequel. Can you guess what it is? Yep, multiplayer! Last weekend at CES, it was announced the to-die-for multiplayer is indeed a reality. Suddenly, it’s Christmas all over again!
Set before the Bioshock events occur, you take over playing as a splicer during the Civil War in which you must choose the side of good or evil. In order to rank up you can research corpses, hack into computers, and of course by killing lots of people. The more you kill, the more adam you get, and with adam you get more weapons and plasmids. Unlike the story mode where wielding a plasmid and weapon at the same time is possible, multiplayer will be limited to only using one at a time.
Gamers can enjoy rounds of up to 10 players (5v5) on 10 different maps. Some of which will bring flash backs from Bioshock such as Point Prometheus. There will also be 5 game modes, one of which is “Capture the Sister.” It’s basically Capture the Flag only flags aren’t what you’re trying to retrieve.
Another shocking twist is that in every round there will be a hidden Big Daddy suit that when acquired will grant the player more health and strength than others. You’ll be harder to kill, but much slower than normal. Similar to the versus mode in Left 4 Dead where someone every round is the lucky winner of driving the tank. Don’t get too comfy though. The downside is you don’t get to regenerate your health so when you’re hurt, you’re hurt for good.
Bringing forth pieces from the the first Bioshock, number two will feel similar, but at the same time like a completely new world. You’ll be able to get a taste of Rapture when it releases on

I anticipate this game with some excited hesitation. Probably one of the only titles i will buy new.... but hope it lives up to my hopes and dreams for it. ;)
