Spike Video Game Awards 2009

This weekend, on December 12th, Spike TV hosted the 2009 VGAs (Video Game Awards), and what a night! Just a few hours beforehand, Los Angeles was pummeled with torrential downpours that threatened the entire broadcast. The gamers prevailed, however, and we received some exciting surprises for what’s hot, as well as what’s to come.

Celebrities posed for the cameras, developers fidgeted nervously and the gamers cheered, booed and tweeted the night away. Sponsored by Burger King, viewers had the option of watching “Their Way” by picking cameras at different times, etc. The awards were also sponsored by Energizer (for controllers that don’t die in the middle of combat! Aaargh!) and of course, Mountain Dew. (Now curiously spelled “MTN DEW” hmm)
