Back to the E3 2009 Coverage Center
With E3 2009 now behind us, you might be wondering what all the fuss was about. The show was filled with a lot of “oohs and ahhs,” but what were some of highlights? Here are a few games I can’t wait to get my hands on!
5) Assassin’s Creed 2
The first game was noted for amazing graphics, its elaborate design, and it’s unique play-style. However the repetitive nature of the original Assassin’s Creed had me doing circles around my living room. What happened to the creativity? Well it looks like they saved it all for the second edition.
Our new hero’s adventures take place during the Renaissance Period where he’s now free to do anything he wants. He can now assassinate in any location rather than a hot spot, he can interact more closely with the villagers, he can use new tactics to complete his missions, and yes, he can now dive. Assassin’s Creed 2 promises more variety, more reality, and even the presence of flying machines from world-renowned creators such as DaVinci.
4) WET
This acrobatic shooter packs major thrill, excitement, and a hint of sex appeal. The spicy female lead named Ruby will do whatever it takes to finish the job. Whether it’s jumping off walls, spinning on flagpoles, or sliding to get that perfect headshot, she’ll fix whatever problem is before her.
With a Kill Bill dynamic to the game design, get ready to meet new characters, complete new missions, and destroy so many bad guys that their blood sends you into rage mode where Ruby becomes nearly unstoppable.
3) The Beatles: Rock Band
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, introducing the one of the greatest bands that changed music as we know it, The Beatles!!!
Play all 45 of the playable songs in Quick Play, or follow the chronological tour of The Beatles in career mode. Packed with new hardware there’s the Gretsch Duo Jet guitar, Rickenbacker 325, Hawker Bass, Ringo Star Drum Kit with a pearl finish, and multiple mics. There is also plenty of downloadable content starting with the entire Abbey Road album.
2) Brutal Legend
You ever get excited about a new release because of all the hype surrounding it, but then feel let down when you actually get it in your hands and play it? Well, Brutal Legend is NOT one of those games.
Let’s face it, when you combine a kick-ass roadie, Heavy Metal Gods, and some wicked bad guys, you’re in for a rockin’ good time. And of course with voice actors /rock stars like Jack Black, Ozzy Osborne, and Rob Halford in the mix, this game will knock the strings off your guitar and the buttons off your controller!
1) The Saboteur
Talk about this years “wow” factor. The Saboteur is definitely a game you’d want to get your hands on. It takes place in France during WWII pinning you against the Nazi’s. But don’t be fooled into thinking this is just another shooting game.
Inspired by the Sin City comic, you’re in an open sandbox game with patches of black and white areas where the life has been drained from the city. You follow closely to the life of the main character Sean Devlin as he attempts to build a resistance against the Nazi’s bring life and color back to the streets.
