South Park: The Stick of Truth is an Live Action RPG that is fully written and voiced by the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

During the hands-off preview, the demo starts in the normal town of South Park. What you first see are your parents telling you to go out and make some new friends. You are the new kid in town, nobody has any idea who you are so they do what is natural…ignore you.

As you walk around the town, Butters the Merciful shows up and says the Wizard wants to see you, which is of course Eric Cartmen. You then get introduced and he starts to show you around his kingdom so you can get a feel of where everything is at, just don’t try to mess things up or he will tell his Mom.

The game is FILLED with South Park humor which makes it seem like you’re just playing a really long awesome episode of the show. For example, when Cartmen asks for your name, its doesn’t matter what you put because he will come up with his own name for you.

Yeah, yeah, story this, story that. What about gameplay? Combat?

The combat borrows from the turn-based gameplay that you would see in classic RPG. But to make things more interesting, they have added arcade elements to the game. If you time the perfect block ,it will create an opportunity to counter and the perfect attack will grant you maximum damage.

Another cool thing about South Park: The Stick of Truth is customization.

You can customize your character from the ground up. There are tons of costumes, hats and hairstyles, some that give you powers, while others are just cool to look at. You can also customize your weapons in many different ways as well.

With 16 years of South Park history, there are many characters that can be featured in the game, even the dead ones!

So many awesome things about this game! Even if you’re not a fan of the show and just love RPGs (and you do not get offended easily by certain types a humor) you should check it out!
