John Millius is no stranger to great story-telling. He’s the screenwriter behind Red Dawn, Apocolypse Now and even Conan the Barbarian. These days, story is king of the video game – if we aren’t personally invested in our characters, we have no desire to fight for them.
Homefront is a high-risk and high-budget video game that pushes the limits of what you think about our nation’s security and possibly what it will take to turn your stomach. In the first two minutes alone, my character witnessed a handful of brutal murders and beatings, to include women and children. 'This must have been what it was like,’ I thought, wincing, 'to have been a Jew in Nazi Germany.’
So, a lot of hype, planning and hard work went into the making of Homefront, not to mention HUGE cajones to make a game about the fall of America. How does it rate, you ask? Click on the screenshot to read the full review (don’t worry, no spoilers):
