I've played a lot of multiplayer games over the years and LoL is my latest addiction. Unfortunately I can't seem to find a lot of fellow girl gamers who like to play it.

The game is a massive rage-fest and a lot of abuse gets thrown around, but despite this it's definitely worth playing.

I would love to meet some fellow LoL players who are keen to play in a rage free environment and just enjoy the game. I'm also happy to help any new players who want to give it a go and need some tips (although I'm not exactly a super pro at it).

I am also curious to know if the level of raging in LoL seems unusual to anyone else? I've played a lot of other multiplayer games and I have to say I haven't really come across anything like the crazy rage in LoL....

I have not played any LoL but I used to be quite fond of WoW. I got tired of it eventually and paying for it every month became expensive. There is a similar game though that is also free called Aion. I have been playing it on and off since the beta a couple years ago and it can be quite fun.

I will give your League of Legends a go if you give Aion a try ;) Also do you play any XBL games? I am sure it's in your profile but it would be awesome to make some girl friends on there ^^

I played LoL for a while a couple years ago, but people don't seem to be kind to newbies.

It's difficult to learn when experienced people keep making new accounts and destroying the crap out of people who are learning. When they are on your team they start "yelling" at you when you don't play exactly how they tell you.

I'd probably try it again if I thought I could find a team of newbies to play with and learn.

DrkJedi: I played Aion for almost 2 years. It was great fun but I'm in Australia so it was hard finding groups to run instances with when I was online as I was on a US server. I really enjoyed it but it was hard to keep up with all the other players when I couldn't grind 24/7.
I am hanging out for Guild Wars 2 at the moment, have played the beta weekends and absolutely loved it (although I am biased since GW1 is one of my favourite games). August 28 can't come soon enough! I highly recommend it, you should definitely try it! So since I've already played Aion does that mean you have to try LoL? ;)

Echo: LoL is definitely not fun for newbies I agree. The game can be hard enough to pick up without people yelling at you instead of just helping you out. They have improved the AI a lot now though so you can get decent practice against bots without having to worry too much about the rage. It's very rare for people to rage in AI games, although it does happen. I have a low level account as well as my high level one and you're right about people making them to have fun smashing newbies (although that's not why I made mine!) My low level summoner name is Lillzy, I'm happy to help you out if you feel like playing again, I'm usually on that account when I'm helping my friends learn so it will be a largely newbie friendly environment :)

Also nope I don't play any XBL games. I used to play a lot of console games but have been playing mainly PC stuff for the last few years. Although I have to say since joining this site it seems like that's where a lot of my fellow girl gamers are at... I may have to get back into it!

Yeah there are not many games as hostile to new players than LoL, but if you can ignore the bull you can get better and the feeling of murdering everywhere is very rewarding. Personally, I love the team atmosphere potential, but in reality unless you're premade you're going to deal with leavers and ragequitters. So mad, bro.

Maybe we can put together a Clan for lady lollers? I for one would be happy to volunteer to show new players the ropes because this game has a heck of a learning curve, and can be really intimidating.
