Hi girls!
My wife has asked me to find a game that she would like. She doesn't enjoy violent games....a bit more of a puzzle gamer. I however know nothing about those types of games so I'm looking for some help. Any advice?

Have her watch some videos on Portal. While it is a puzzle game, there are a few obstacles which try to shoot at you, but it's not enough to be in the actual shooter genre.
What system are we talking about?
For Wii, I'd definitely push for Super Paper Mario. It's great for anyone of any gender or age, and doesn't become as confusing as Super Mario Galaxy can be.
Battalion Wars 2 could also be a great introductory shooter, retaining a cartoonish and fun style, being easy enough for a beginner to get into but delving into enough complexity to teach how to player more in-depth games. Plus, if she never gets into it, you'll still have a fun game to hop into.
Metroid Prime trilogy because, well, Metroid is awesome and Prime 1 was amazing enough to begin with. Now it gets a port with two other games!
For Xbox 360, well, that's a tougher situation if you're looking at retail games. I'd say look to some of the great stuff on Arcade, such as Castle Crashers. In fact, Castle Crashers is a perfect intro to gaming. It's simple, is very forgiving for less-skilled players, and is just plain fun and amusing.
I'll have to think a bit more for other games as an introduction on 360. The problem with some games like Bioshock is I've seen non-gamers try and play shooters, and they have such trouble with using both analog sticks at the same time that just looking where you want is a game all on its own. Of course, I've known plenty of PC and console gamers to be terrible at using two analogs at the same time anyway. In fact, it's usually hard for me to tell how fun a game will be based on gameplay release videos just because people suck that badly. Of course a mouse is "better", you don't know how to gently nudge the damned stick instead of mashing it all the way over. :/
i'd say for ps3 LITTLE BIG PLANET
it's cute, not violent and eventhough it's more of a jump and run, she can create her own levels which is creative and comes a lil closer to a puzzle game or the like.
Plus it's casual and you can replay every stage you onlocked.
PLUS: fun soundtrack!

I highly, highly, highly agree with her. If you're talking about PC that is, then definitely shoot for Portal. It's a very fun, strategic game that won't bore her. In fact, I'm pretty sure she'll love it just as much as I did! :)
If she likes puzzle games, and you have a 360, she should try "super puzzle fighter ii turbo hd remix" Slightly like tetris but I think it's better. Features street fighter characters and a bunch of different modes. I LOVE IT! <3 :]
If we're talking xbox360 I second Castle Crashers. That's a really fun coop game you two could play together that's very, very simple. Puzzle games, puzzle games, hrm.. Peggle? :D
