Girl Gamer

I had a medical scare yesterday and as I was gathering my things to head to the emergency room, I couldn't leave without my PSP! LOL I had to laugh at myself and knew you girls (and guys) would appreciate it.

So, I thought I would start a fun new thread. "You know you're a gamer when..."

...you realize you might have to spend the night in the hospital so you grab your PSP!

...you were potty trained with an Atari controller in your hand! (I'm borrowing that one, but it was a good one!)

....you look for the x3 fast forward button on the tv remote after a night of playing the sims.

...you're decorating your kids' nursery with a baby mario/yoshi theme.

I was chatting about FPS's and how different it would be to be thrown into the middle of a battlefield. I turned to my friend and said "I might not even know what to do in a real battle, what if you freak out and don't know who your teammates are!"

And my friend laughed "You are such a gamer! They don't call them teammates in a real war!"

You know you're a gamer when you refer to real life using gaming lingo...

I have different scenarios play out in my dreams that are actually quite lame and when I wake-up, I'm like lolling all over the place. Such would be the case when I dreamt about looking in a creepy, bloody doghouse when it was dark and foggy outside. You can probably digress I'm currently playing Silent Hill 1. My dreams make absolutely no sense but they can actually be quite realistic, I just often dream of being in game! You know you're a gamer when you play them in your sleep!

...when one of your first "drem" guys was loosely, or not so loosely in my case, was based off of Link ;D

You know you're a gamer when...

You prioritize charging your DS over your cell phone.
You try to figure out the exchange rate of Gil.
You look at a difficult task and see it as a Quicktime event.
You blow out candles and expect hearts to pop out.
Your ringtone is the Final Fantasy "Battle Win" theme.
You're having a normal conversation and a health bar appears over the person's head.
You consider traveling by wishing star to get to a location.
You replace your IM sounds with soundbytes from the in-game menus.
When selecting something to eat, you're compelled to press your right thumb down to confirm. [Happened to me when I was playing FF-X2]

I've had that dream, too! Haven't had many Silent Hill dreams lately, they've been mostly about me playing Super Mario Brothers, or hearing the soundtrack playing over whatever I'm doing in the dream. LOL

...You know you're a gamer when your thumbs twitch in your sleep!

You know you're a gamer when you immediately start to strategize how you would defend a new area once you enter it.

You also know you're a gamer (or a L4D nerd) when everytime you see a gas can, you immediately try to find the ideal placement for it.

You hear " Boop Bweep " every time something great happens.

You refer to a really creepy apartment complex on campus as "Ravenholm" instead of "Riverknoll", its actual name.

After seeing the E3 trailer for Halo 2, have a dream that you were actually playing it and are mad disappointed in the morning when it wasn't real (and are later disappointed when your dream was cooler than the actual game).

After seeing the E3 announcement for Zelda: Twilight Princess, have a dream about test playing the brand new Zelda, only it is top-down 2D with beautiful graphics and Link is in chainmail and a kilt. Then, when you wake up, are disappointed because it was a dream, then because that game will probably never exist.

And continue to dream about playing video games that don't exist but really ought to.

When one person begins the classic FF battle theme opening, and your group of friends join in Barber Shop Quartet style, singing the different parts of the song in its entirety.

When you can shout "I wanna be, the very best, that no one ever was..." and then the entire room joins in singing "To catch them is my real test! To train them is my cause!"

When you and your co-worker at a tech camp decide to see who can remember more of the original 150 Poke`mon, and then in a combined effort manage to remember about 146.

I'm sure there's plenty more, but I can't think of them at the moment.
