It’s been annoying me. People tell me I play too many videogames, to “obsessed” with something that turns my brain to “mush.” Well, I understand the stereotype, but many of the people have no foundation to insult gamers.
First, there is my new friend here at school. She isn’t one who really annoys me, but it bothers me when she tells me videogames are making my grades low. I know for a fact they are not in the way of my academics. Here at The Hill School I play less than an 2 hours of video games a week. THATS NOTHING. She thinks they’re ridiculous, pointless, and basically destructive to life.
THEN, there are a few girls in my dorm…including the dorm parents. They think that my gaming gets in the way of my social life. They think it takes up my time, is unimportant, and makes me dumb. Well, NEWSFLASH, hours of Jersey Shore and the Kardashians aren’t gonna get you far. They can think whatever they want about my gaming, but the hippocracy of being obsessed with something dumb…well, it’s getting a little out of hand.
They can dislike games all they want, dislike me all they want, but before they open their mouths and bash on me and the things I do, they can take a look at themselves. I’m sure this goes for every situation in life, not just against gamers. It’s like stepping into someone elses shoes to see where they’re comming from, seeing who they are, and comparing yourself to them.
I’m not argueing about why games are “better” than tv shows, never said they were. It’s all opinion. I just feel like people should appreciate differences in others and respect opinions.

Since I’ve been at The Hill School here in PA, I have been really working on my photography skills and learning more and more. It really helps that I have guidance from a teacher and other photography classmates as well. I’m super duper proud to say that I am one of the top students in my class and having a great time completing homework! (for once in my life).
This is a black and white film photography class. I absolutely love my 35 mm chinon camera. Overtime, I have grown to love the film developing/ photo enlargement process as well. I find it sooo relaxing. It’s also really amazing how easy it is to manipulate your results just by using light and time. It truly fascinates me.
On the digital side of photography, I GOT MY FIRST TRUE GIG THIS WEEK!
Yep. I did photography with the Department of Veteran Affairs. I went down to D.C. with my lil Nikon D3000 and three classmates, borrowed a 400 mm lense(=D!!!) and took pictures at Arlington National Cemetary. I had a fantastic time just being there. The fact that I was THE media was even better. I took some lovely pics (though sometimes I found myself rather emotional with the whole veterans day part) and had a great time. I’ll post a few =]

Man. I didn’t know the definition of exhaustion until this past week. Yup, at last I am in PA at The Hill School…doing…school stuff. Wanna know something weird? I’m not aloud to go to bed before 9:45 O_O. but I AM aloud to wake up at 8 =D
So far, nothing seems like it’s gonna be fun. Hopefully it’ll get better as the year progresses…but right now I’m stressed and this week is taking FOREVER!
There are, however, sweet classes here. I’m taking photography, digital animation, and a cool humanities class =] I’m stoked.
OOOH! I also got a new computer.
But I miss my xbox…Ima rig up myself a bad ass gaming station here in my dorm room though.

I’ve been taking more and more pictures lately as I’ve been figuring out my camera. I really am amazed by the clarity of some f the pictures and the capabilites of the camera. I’ve shot everything like the sky, animals, bugs, and people.
One thing has been bothering me though. When I take a picture, I feel like I can never get the whole story of what is going on. Today I took a picture of grass and the sky. The picture itself was fantastic, but to me it was more than that. The reason it was beautiful is because I was laying in the grass, in the sun, with my horse eating peacefully next to me. I wish I knew how to convey that kind of emotion in my photos, so the viewer could feel like I did.
I suppose thats why the really amazing photographers are so loved, because you can feel what they are feeling and understand what they are seeing. Like you’re actually there…not looking through a lense.
Sometimes I wonder if the greatest things I see are meant to be treasured and remembered, not trapped on film.

So I saw a post on the side of the road for a MW2 tournament while I was on vacation. My friend and I decided we’d go…but it took us forever to find lol. We knew we had the address, but the place we had an address to was a church. HAHA sure enough the kill as many people as you can tournament was at church. It was super fun. There were 3 girls in the tournament (me, my friend, and a girl who wanted to impress a boy) and me and my friend pwned! lol it was super fun. I made it to finals but sadly I was beaten by a 10 year old.
On the way out we got pocket bibles…and guidance handbooks.
